Final Contest Ambassadors "en herbe" in Paris
Managed since 2013 by the educational service of the AEFE (Agency for French Education Abroad ) in connection with the communication and events department, Aspiring ambassadors bring together all the institutions of the French education network abroad.
Organised worldwide throughout the school year, this multidisciplinary educational project invites students to discuss topical international issues. It is based on values dear to AEFE, the promotion of a culture based on intercultural dialogue and multilingualism, citizenship training through the practice of expression of views and debate. Mastery of the French language is also a major issue. For this 7th edition, 127 schools in 108 cities in 73 different countries took part in the programme, preparing their pupils to discuss various social issues.
At the end of the finals organised at the level of the participating countries, then the geographical areas, 50 budding ambassadors from primary school (fourth or fifth grade), middle school and high school (second class) were selected to come and debate in Paris on 13, 14 and 15 May on the theme "Science and society: the world in 2050?". They will speak in turn in several languages, in front of a crowd of personalities from the pedagogical, cultural, scientific and diplomatic world.
The day of Monday, May 13, will allow students to prepare for the debates that will take place on Tuesday, May 14 and Wednesday, May 15. The three days will take place at Sorbonne University - Pierre and Marie Curie Campus, partner of the operation in 2019.
For the first year the French school of Las Terrenas participated in the great contest, the happy winner and proud representative of the school Theodore Chaséssiau Pablo di Muzio (14 years old), will carry high the colors of the Dominican Republic and France, something to make proud of his family, his establishment and his native village.
